It’s a beautiful summer day and all I can think about are all black outfits for fall. Black doesn’t have to be boring. Try mixing textures and lengths and creating interesting layers.
This is a feel good story.
The Texan town, McAllen, knows how to make any bookworm feel all warm and fuzzy. After Walmart shut its doors, leaving 124,500 square feet empty, the town converted the space into what is now the largest single-story library in the States. As if this transformation of abandoned commercial real estate into a useful community space isn’t enough, there’s more than enough modern architectural elements to make any design enthusiast happy. I don’t wear jewellery very often and the few pieces I do wear tend to all be very simple, delicate designs. I guess the truth is I’m just lazy. I don’t want to spend time thinking about matching my jewellery to my outfits but I do like that the right piece can take an outfit from average to amazing. Below are a few of the pieces I’ve been coveting recently.

From Need Supply Co.

This is one of my absolute favourites! From Macha
From Andrea Bonelli
It’s amazing how much we are influenced by our surroundings. Creating a great work space can have an amazing effect on how productive you are. I tend to favour spaces with plenty of light, plants, and modern design elements. Here’s a little office space inspiration.

I recently bought a pair of leather shorts from Zara. Ok, maybe not leather. Definitely pleather. But they do the trick.
It was one of those moments when you try something on and you happen to already be wearing the perfect outfit to match. Once I got them home though I realized I had no idea what else to wear them with so I’ve been scouring the web for some inspiration. I’m currently pairing them with crop tops and leopard print flats but I can’t wait to wear them with tights and ankle boots come fall.
I’ve recently discovered that Pinterest has use beyond encouraging me to buy more clothing I don’t need. I’ve been collecting pretty patterns, which is probably better for my wallet and my health than ogling clothing and food. It’s great inspiration for drawing and design and I find myself looking for beautiful and interesting details in unusual places. These are a few of my recent pins. The beautiful weather has had me craving summer cocktails. These are a few of my favourites from some great blogs.
This cucumber cocktail from Honestly Yum would be perfect for muggy summer days.
The Kitchn makes the mojito even better.
The best part about this icy drink from Green Kitchen Stories is that it tastes just as good with or without alcohol.
I don’t love super sweet drinks, which is why this cherry drink by Sprouted Kitchen is perfect. It’s light and refreshing but not too sweet.
I love margaritas and I love spice so this might be my new favourite summer cocktail. We can thank A Cozy Kitchen for this one.
And for those of you who prefer something booze-free, this iced tea from Good Things Grow looks so delicious.
